In order to better serve the securities industry and the financial markets, Midclear was appointed by the Central Bank of Lebanon on 2 July 2003 as the sole National Numbering Agency for securities issued in Lebanon.

This means that Midclear is the sole organization entitled to allocate international security (ISIN) codes for all Lebanese securities issued in Lebanon.

This will make available to the securities industry as a whole, an International Securities Identification Number (ISIN). This standard provides a uniform structure for a number known as the ISIN that uniquely identifies securities.

On 14 November 2003, Midclear became a full member of the Association of National Numbering Agencies (ANNA). This membership helps in making available all Lebanese ISINs to all ANNA members worldwide.
